Dearest Dilly Done Gone

One day, a beautiful feline:
A vital part of our wee family.
Rescued from a feral life in a tiny body.
Runt of the litter of a tired-out too-young Mam

One and a half years old,
Bottle-fed, Daddy's girl.
Yesterday she was gone.
Suddenly; just like that.
No answers; no reason given.

A shock, much gratitude...
Celebration for the time we're given.

A beloved form, spirit fled.

More to say about her humanitarian
Service... unconditional, an offering of innocence.
But not yet. Not yet.

The rest is silence.
For now...

So, so sad. What a wonderful tribute! She couldn't have been loved any better.
This is beautiful. I guess Kathryn told me but it somehow didn't register. I am so sorry my friend. I remember Baba saying "If it's your time to go, you can be done in by a blade of grass. If not, a semi-truck can't kill you." I guess it was her time for some not-to-be-known reason.
Thank you very much for your sweet comments on my attempt at some start of fare-thee-well, Barbara and Mac. @ Barbara: lovely your faith in me, and yes, feelings of all sorts meandering thru like Ricochet Rabbit. @ Mac: I completely remember that quote. It made a huge impression on me when I first heard it, and I never forgot. Still, so good to have the reminder. To keep it on that level. I love you!
Poor sweet thing -- I'm so sorry for your loss. As Barbara said, what a lovely tribute. From the photos it's clear she had a happy, comfortable, deeply loving home with you and Jon -- lucky her, and lucky you, and lucky us who got to know her a bit through your posts and pictures.

Long, quiet hugs,
Kathryn
