Gorgeous Blue Marble Home World

This article is definitely worth the look and skim/read
Even though I've posted the two most recent photographs
Of our Earth here as well, they're much larger @ the link.

It's a fascinating history of photography of the planet.
The better the camera, the clearer you get,
With all your winds and currents set in motion
Regardless of the still shots seen here.

This is the URL for the article; take a look:

And the images may bring up countless words
Or a poignant silence.
Hard not to have some sort of response;
At least it was evocative for me.

Every time I see a picture like this I find myself looking for borders. They aren't there no matter how incredibly beautiful the picture.
But we do get to see it in what we think of as right-side-up... and all lined up to present certain parts of the world in prime positioning. Who says? There are no ups and downs. It's space, after all. And it's not just a fluke that the southern hemispheres are not primarily presented where most eyes go first when they look at a picture. It might have an impact on the way we see things, but probably not... ;) And to respond, Mac - yes... the borders are imaginary lines, except when they coincide with a line of river or mountains. ;)) In fact, it's all imaginary... they got the memo out late. xoxox
