Posterous Blog Further Dissemination, I Hope, Clementine

Is this not the true indication of celebration and glory?
I was near Mumbai in 1986 for Holi, and it's so freeing, like a snowball play-fight of rainbows. Songs. Frequency.
I had to borrow and link back to Clementine's blog, as I thought people should actually see it to investigate further.... contagion! One hopes, anyway.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful blog, Ms. ReflectionOf.Me.  I ABSOLUTELY love it! All of it.

Incredible photography from the Celebration of Colors, by Poras Chaudhary. The event, also known as Holi, is a popular Hindu spring festival observed in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and countries with large Hindu diaspora. More of Poras’ images here.

I posted some pictures from this as well (http://pocketlama.livejournal.com/ scroll down about half-way through the page). The colors and joy are amazing and sweet.
Thanks, Mac - those close-ups, especially - are so potent. I'm glad you left the link.... I'll be checking on you, for sure... Kinda wussed out by responding to your comment here, didn't I? You know how occasionally you don't feel like registering for just one more thing on the web. But, I will get to it at the exact right moment. ;)
I would love to be around in India during Holi, wouldn't you? Some bright day in the future I want the four of us to go and embrace that country in person (again for the three of us, and for the first time for Kathryn).

I want to talk to that goat-herd if he's still there, I want to ring the bell at Nityananda's temple. I want to climb the stairs at that country temple (remember that a bunch of us had to carry that large man up then down the steps with him in his wheel-chair) and chant while surrounded by those wonderful, garish colored statues. I want to smell and see the haze over the entire country as dinner time comes and families all over build their buffalo dung fires for dinner.

Maybe we could even make it up to the origin of the Ganges river... The choices are endless!

What an amazing idea! Wouldn't that be something? I've always wanted (waited?) to go back. What a travelers quad we'd make! I love your descriptions and remembrances too. Ahhh.... can't wait!
