Listen to Your Heart: The Yeti Trance Song, Mod Fox, and Ice Flow

There are ten seconds of a commercial up front
Of each clip.
That's all. I find it worth it, but I honestly
Don't know whether a person can enjoy this as
Much without knowing and loving the characters
From the repertory series, "The Mighty Boosh,"
a BBC show currently Visible in the states on Cartoon Network's 'Adult Swim'

I'm glad it'll be posted up so that you can see
A few of my favorite sweet moments from the season 1 & ep1 from s2.
Not entirely altruistic, I must admit.

I'm awake before 4am this morning.
Comparing impressions of Mick Jagger.
Something is seriously off kilter and out of whack.
Having fun repeating silly timeworn phrases like those two.

And the ones used to describe Mr. Jagger over the years.
I like Vince Noir's best: "He's a monkey genius."
I wish the Brits could hear themselves speak.
They must be immune by now to its
Absolute adorableness.

Perhaps Postscript Girl will dig up the seconds of
Noir's and Jagger's stylings.
So you two can set your alarm for 3:50am some a.m.
(yes, I know it's a simulation, okay? Please
Keep writing and phoning in about it!)
and compare for yourself.

You never know with Postscript Girl.

The day I learned the word, 'anglophile,' was one
Of those times in life where I realized there are others
Out there like some part of myself.

Hopefully, you'll find some morsel of something
Nutritious in these  few clips of one of my favorite
New toys... a teevee show made just for me.  ;)

-First is from the beginning episode of season two.
-The next one is from a pipe tune I cannot
Now extract from my brain - an earworm as with
Any Night Gallery episode or other horror show.
-And thirdly, from the first season, episode four.

What Is It About Vampires?

TheYoungMartyr.jpg
"The Young Martyr, 1855" by Paul Delaroche

I often find myself enjoying stories about them,
'Dracula,' 'The Historian,' 'Buffy,' Angel,' Dark Shadows...'
So I thought I'd try to list the 17 things I think
Intrigue me, without stopping to consider.
A brainstorm of the undead.

1-They live forever
2-Often teeter on the edge of evil & redemption
3-Giving up one's blood as a form of sacrifice
4-Or cleansing, like with leeches to cure disease
5-Caught at a particular age,
6-And potentially having wisdom far beyond
7-Dangerous but gentle-personly
8-Difficult relationships with mortals understanding
9-Attraction to Life Left Behind
10-Attraction to Death
11-Special powers over others
12-Undying Love and 'victims'
13-Various stories of garlic, night, etc. as weakness
14-Their Initiation Story, often an act of mercy
15-Modern Only: The ethical struggle...
16-No access to the bright hereafter
17-Plenty of access to memory, history, regret?

I heard that the currently known as 'Edward' actor
Was grazed by a NYC taxi cab today.
Hope he's okay - and it took me until today to
Figure out where I knew him from:
Cedric Diggory in that other series...H.P.

I may've loved the Twilight series- who knows -
Had it been written by a different author or the same one
In a number of years from now.

Good story - repetitive writing for my taste, but I know
Plenty of people who love it, and that speaks volumes.
No harm meant.
Ever.

I mean - I'm only warming up and have nothing to say
She did come up with a sweet take on an age-old plot.
I wish her much success in the future as now.

Chewing on Zorba - pt2

I can tell that Zorba, once again, will not let hold of me.... Chew, chew, chew... contemplate - try to understand as fully as possible - ME. And him.

Oops - Cervantes you will have to wait long time your turn.  ;) Please pause popping in, most graciously I beg - time is needed.

Reading quotes again from the book, like the one to follow - is so moving, the motion and acceptance of Life. I feel nectar flowing more freely in my heart.

In this one, 'The Boss' writes to Zorba after they have had their epiphany on the beach, which comes at the end of the movie, but continues on through correspondence and experience in the book:

"My joys here are great, because they are very simple and spring from the everlasting elements: the pure air, the sun, the sea and the wheaten loaf. In the evening an extraordinary Sinbad-the-Sailor squats before me, Turkish fashion, and speaks. He speaks and the world grows bigger. Occasionally, when words no longer suffice, he leaps up and dances. And when dancing no longer suffices he places his santuri on his knees and plays.

'Sometimes he plays a savage air and you feel you are choking because you realise all at once that your life is colourleess, miserable and unworthy of man. Sometimes he plays a dolorous air and you feel  your life passing, running away like sand between your fingers, and that there is no salvation.

'My heart is going to and fro in my breast like a weaver's shuttle. It is weaving these few months which I am spending in Crete, and - God forgive me - I believe I am happy.

'Confucius says: "Many seek happiness higher than man; others beneath him. But happiness is the same height as man." That is true. So there must be a happiness to suit every man's stature. Such is, my dear pupil and master, my happiness of the day. I anxiously measure it and measure it again, to see what my stature of the moment is.

For you know this very well, man's stature is not always the same.

'How the soul of a man is transformed according to the climate, the silence, the solitude, or the company in which it lives!"

Me now: that book in my top 10 is filled to the top with insight, thoughtfulness, and the spinning wheel of life. If you haven't read it, and keep a list, you know what you might want to do.

I'm So Glad!

In an odd way I'm glad..... but also nervous about the fact that
I've now kept up this blogging discipline long enough that I
Officially no longer know if I've written something or just thought about writing it.

It probably doesn't matter, because even though I may have written it already
I'll most likely come at it from a different angle than before....
Or therapeutically say it enough that I DO remember and make good - hopefully - adjustments in my life
And anyone who recognizes and thinks, 'eh?' can zoom on past.

Thinking that I've done it already has kept me from writing many things.

I could get really organized and write down what I write down in some sort of index
'That would be the ticket,'
I could hear Cary Grant say in my head for some unknown reason.

He may speak in my head any time he wishes, btw.

This was interesting...
Thinking about writing and fishing around...
Up she popped,
So I'm sharing it.

White Christmas - Two Things That Go Great Together Today

"This is the eleventh song from the soundtrack to the movie Cold Mountain, 2003. Traditional song. Performed by Jack White."

I wish it wasn't an annoying - to me -  still photo, as that dance is one of my top three favorite scenes in the film.

Just babbling now, it seems.... the stream of consciousness has got me in its current-y clutches.

Didn't know it was tidal, did you? Or maybe you did.

1997

You've heard this tale, roughly, many times I'm sure.
So much media.... and sadness.
This song is the one that fits today.

On the day I went out for lunch,
Unusual as a teacher with little time.

Came back to the classroom and heard the news.
I think it was the hardest afternoon I ever taught
Out of many.

"Concentration"
So vulnerable - practiced... what to say.

"Jolene"

Today continues down the C. Stream
Not feeling well big time
So trying to distract myself
With my one simple hobby...

Typing slooooowwww, tho.

I love when rockers take on other genres. Pretty song, just like the lady, Jolene.

As for White Stripes - Meg has majorly improved since 2002! Jack always brings everything to it, whatever it may be.

A heartfelt plea for love. I especially feel it double when Jack sings it from the woman's point of view. Doh!

Two to compare - separated by decades and styles
Gotta love both pantsuits, though.
Things come round and round on the slinky.

This is from 1974 - maybe you can tell if your Uncle Martin antennae are up. Or you happen to see the opening credits.

Still Chewing On "Skellig" When Acoustic "Cherub Rock" Strolls In With a Full Pass

My mind is free range today
Not that it isn't on other days
But especially so.

I love acoustic versions of rawking songs
1993 was a year that so many things happened.
This was just one of them.
Hope I'm not giving away the plot.  ;)

Best not to focus on the numbers.
Don't think of a monkey - I get told that often.

Beautiful Days and Unfortunate (?) Beginnings

Owl.jpg
"Owl" by Pablo Picasso

I practically fell out of bed with my third dark dream in as many days.
This one wasn't a continuation, like the other two.

It was insidious, however, weaving so many variables
From real life that I really had to shake myself and
Be sure that I was truly awake and in the
'Real' situation in which I actually live.
I still feel haunted.

I stumbled out here and immediately wrote down the major points.
Perhaps I'll get brave enough to post those kinds of things
With variations as stories eventually.
I hope so.

Lots of prime mining to be had there
In the world of dreams.
Thoughts, images, symbols, Story
If only I could write one...

I really want to.

The picture goes with Skellig....
As does the music.
