A Photo Riff....

When we got an office chair with the perfect fabric
For a scratching post anyway
We decided to offer up one piece of furniture
To the kittens
In trade for all the others.

They love their post that
Doubles as a pretty effective Chair
As well.

Plus they really do have this thing for
Their paternal parent
Daddy
Who sits in the chair
When they're not
There.

It's an odd photo posting morning.
Finally.

Again, with the house...

I guess there'll never really be LAST touches...
But getting pretty close to the final stuff that HAS to be done
That is known.
Here are some more pictures, from a trip south yesterday,
Enjoy if you wish!

Soon you'll have the images memorized...

You can't tell too much from the basics here, but there's always hope for photography.

The first four pics just wound up here by accident; they are from the house left behind.

Tomorrow.

I like the way the front windows shine!

;)

Discovered This Old Song of Theirs

Please don't be mad, Anton Newcombe and The Brian Jonestown Massacre. I just love this song, and I thought people should hear this earlier creativity from you.

If you want, I will take it down, credit it how you want, etc.

I'll do whatever you'd like as I think the world of you and your music.

Truly!

This is the song, "Fingertips," from a bit ago.

Go into that space and enjoy.

A lovely drifting space.

Static - Living Lights

So beautiful.
This video is so clear and vivid.

I remember when I was a kid I used to live in Brooklyn -
Or stay at my grandparents' place on Broadway, and
Look out the windows...
Watching the lights going on and off various
Floors of tall buildings and really concentrate on them.

This is exactly how I wished to see it then, but I
Only had my eyes to watch at normal speed,
Even then, it was spectacular.

Good Thursday Morning

"Journey"  (I've always felt ambivalent about the 'inspirational' word posters, but...)

Yesterday was the first day I went without posting
Once I started this blog.
It felt really strange to tell the truth.
All day I thought, I'll do it, I'll think of something, but I never did.

There's lots of chaos and drama at the moment
Life it gearing up for a change in this neck of the woods

I'm sure it's NOT a huge disappointment in your life,
But I really do like you to have something
To read or look at or listen to,

And a friendly voice who really does care that...
You're there.
Plus it gives me great joy to send something out into the
Atmosphere where beings live.

Thank goodness for atmosphere....
And water... those of us who have it relatively clean especially...
And those who want to help those who don't
And thank goodness for you.

The world would not be anywhere near the same
without your lively, lovely
Rays filtering out into the rest of us all,
Really.

I hope today you will take at least a moment -
Hopefully more
To really celebrate your existence.
Life seeing itself clearly
And what can you say?

Now We Are Free

A beautiful soundtrack to a movie I boiled down to one word: 'Devotion.'
"Gladiator" - much violence. Some folks enjoy that, especially understanding that it really happened.
Really happens.
Today. Yesterday. Hopefully not for long.
Until we get it together.

I thought it served the word, and so I loved the film.
That's all it takes sometimes.
One word with all its might and creativity...
In service.

Do Not Watch Nor Read Unless You've Seen "Mississippi Masala" All the Way Through to the END! Or.... YOU Decide...It Might Make You Want to See It Without Giving Too Much Away As There's No Context.

This is the very end, including flashes amid the credits of the movie, "Mississippi Masala," one of the most beautiful endings, in my opinion, of any movie - if you're using sweetness and joy as a measure.

I don't want to ruin the movie for anyone, as this ending will mean so much more if you've seen the whole thing, but it's beautiful on its own... so you will have to decide for yourself.

I can't be everywhere advising everyone, and you'd only get annoyed at me anyway!  ;)

It's the level and quality of WELCOME that gets me crying every time.

And the music is perfect for that openness.

If you decide to skip this post until you've seen the movie... maybe you WILL see it someday. (If you do decide to watch, click the 'HQ' button first for High Quality viewing)

Another gem from Mira Nair.

Patterns continue to emerge, I notice.

Milk in the Way

Brief, Gorgeous, Time Lapse.
Meow!

Reminds me of the movie, "The Beach," in which one of the loveliest moments was the multiple photographs of the principle actors overlaid upon each other with the starry sky behind.

Both clips remind me that the world is turning.

As if it's not perfectly obvious anyway.

" Time lapse video of night sky as it passes over the 2009 Texas Star Party in Fort Davis, Texas. The galactic core of (the) Milky Way is brightly displayed. Images taken with 15mm fisheye lens."

and....

"The Beach" trailer - doesn't have the shot I mentioned, but the song is a favorite...
