I've Been Waiting for Them to Say The Word and They Did + Loopholes!

Who could ask for anything more.

In the "Lost" finale(s)...  (spoilery?) Tread carefully, young grasshopper...

We had the dichotomy of cool and interesting Jacobriffic Ankh weaving
Versus Miles, Hugo, and obvious messy relationship H-bomb detonation.

So we'll call it two thirds, I guess. Or three quarters. Or eight point five twelves...
That's what the coin toss and 8-ball tell me.

I liked it, but boy what a split. Maybe that's the point.
But they did say the word 'lost.' Did you catch it?

Did you also notice the dark and light at the start...
Made me think of Star Trek red shirts not so much...
Blond and Brunette...
Bring people to the island; keep them away
An argument...

Ooh - so much more to say.... er... edit in.
I'd be Lost if not for theory-making.
Got plenty of those, and that can be fun when watching the melodramtaic quarter bits behind the 8-ball.

I am a very annoying - and occasionally seriously funny - commentator with whom to watch.
Grammar!

Just the beginning?
Who could ask for anything more?
I think there's basically one way to go last season....
What say you?

I think there's more than one person loopholing, if you ask me.

I know you didn't ask at all.

Oscar Development

We teach people how to remember, we never teach them how to grow.    ~Oscar Wilde

Personally, I thought both were important when teaching, but I imagine it can be true some times and places.
That would be a sad thing, though... half of the equation.
When I first read it, I thought it clever.... like so so many of the man's ideas.

What is wit?
I think that is the chief association with Wilde.

Dictionary.com's first definition for Wit is:

"...the keen perception and cleverly apt expression of those connections between ideas that awaken amusement and pleasure."

Fun stuff.
Thought provoking
and Silly at times

Time flies.

Half and Half and Tiny Memories

The first creative thing I remember my parents do in media was make a reel-to-reel shot of stop action shoes moving all over the apartment.

I felt so proud of their accomplishment, and delighted as a tiny child in watching it over and over and over again.

This video is relentlessly upbeat music with neat half-animation effects and stop-action creativity that reminded me of my parents in their twenties. Comes in at about 3:26.

Good for cheering on a dark and dreary night..

Dark Side of the Lunar Eclipse

I got my "Dark Side of the Moon" LP a few days after it came out.
Within a week of that, there was a lunar eclipse in New Jersey.
Perfect long cloudy wisps passed over, not obscuring our vision (no pun intended)

After a week of listening to the album non-stop,
My roommate and I (college) felt this utter compulsion
To run outside and be part of the shadow on the moon.

Of course none of it makes sense now,
But we wanted to make a cosmic difference.

And dancing, jumping, laughing, and playing
While the moon was eclipsed amidst mental strains of Pink Floyd...

We felt that we had somehow.

"Dragon Fire..."

I most definitely want to promote this new book.
The author is someone I know and heartily endorse.
This book needs to be seen by children... and the children in us.

Thank you for writing, Y.P.! Keep it up!

Beautiful web page and lots of information and links.
Just turn your sound down a bit before you head to the Washington shore.
You're good to go...

Frank

My grandmother owned an apartment building in Brooklyn once upon a time.
She lived there until she was mugged, and the family decided for her that it was best to move.

It was on a dead end street, with tall fencing over which the hill tumbled down toward the railroad tracks.
They sat there in a trench between two hills with tall fencing.
I always remember them strewn with autumn leaves of varying colors.
They probably always were.

So many things happened there, and I can precisely remember the layout of the apartment to this day.
I will probably use that in another thrilling 'story' another day.

But this time I want to talk about Frank.

Frank was the African-American super, before they used that term.
I loved Frank.
I have no idea how old he was, where he came from, or anything about his life,
Except that he used to sit with me on the stoop, smoke his cigars.
And emanate a rare sort of peace that I loved to be around.

He slept in the boiler room in the basement. On a cot.
He was one of the kindest people I've ever met, and I will not forget him until my dying day.
His has long passed, and I miss him.

There was an empathy in his presence that made me feel good about life
When childhood wasn't going so well.
I think that was the only time I ever remember liking the smell of cigars,
surrounding Frank like a halo.

One time I went into the basement when I was staying over at my dear grandmother's place.
I happened upon Frank in his room sleeping on his cot.
He woke up.
I think he was sick and resting.

I had been looking for a dollhouse I used to play with there.
I wish I had that dollhouse now, as I remember it being so intricate and beautiful,
Like the one in the famous 'Twilight Zone' episode you may have seen.
It's one of my dozens of favorites, called, "Miniature."

That was the only time I ever saw Frank's room.
But it made a big impression on me.
He lived so very differently that anyone else I knew.
And he was happy.
I could feel it.

I miss you and think of you, Frank.
Maybe you're back in my life now, and I don't even know it.

Matt Is Beautiful!

Matt sure gets around.
And preserves his joy.

Thanks to lovely brother, H.M. for reminding me of the beauty
of Matt's dance the world round.

And now I actually have a place to share it with
Everyone - should see:
An uninhibited, joyful soul, dancing with others, underwater, and over land.
See in HD, definitely!

The best part is that Matt had so much fun making this!
And so did everyone else who made it, plus my brother... and me.
