To have had such a human being here for a time
To share what they new knew
How they saw the world and its history Thank you, Mr. Zinn;
I learned a great deal about how to see and think.
Safe Journey Some folks seem to get a lot done during their lives!
A lovely site with many informative links: http://howardzinn.org/default/

A long life at 91, J.D. Salinger passed
The ephemeral veil this day.
I lift my glass to the man who lived
The way he wanted to, and wrote down
His mysteries which people continue to ponder. I wish him a safe journey
To the next stop on his creative journeyHere are a few quotes of his
That I like and to which I relate
Without any cuss words... ;)“An artist's only concern is to shoot for some kind of perfection, and on his own terms, not anyone else's.”
“Among other things, you'll find that you're not the first person who was ever confused and frightened and even sickened by human behaviour. You're by no means alone on that score, you'll be excited and stimulated to know. Many, many men have been just as troubled morally and spiritually as you are right now. Happily, some of them kept records of their troubles. You'll learn from them—if you want to. Just as some day, if you have something to offer, someone will learn something from you. It's a beautiful reciprocal arrangement. And it isn't education. It's history. It's poetry.”“'Anyway, I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody's around - nobody big, I mean - except me. And I'm standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff - I mean if they're running and they don't look where they're going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That's all I'd do all day. I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all.”
A moment of silence
A moment of stillness
A moment of reclusion.
Fare thee well...
Until I start.... and follow through.
{That's the hardest part}
Don't know whether it's ever happened
To date. And for something I want to put a
Significant amount of effort into, I'd like for it to
Have some meaning for myself and possibly others,
Rather than serve only as distraction...
Maybe even entertainment alone. It seems to me as though
Every person has something uniquely their own
To say from which others might derive some benefit.
What do I have to say? What is in my perspective that might shed a
Tiny ray on human existence
That some others might relate to and feel
Not as alone in their existing.I could share stories I've heard that are
Simply amazing and show the world as
More than just a kabuki theater.
But where to start?Again and over and over again, I suppose
The sun is out and bright - the silver hour
Before gold
An aid for optimism and cheerful outcomes.Atop the day
Is a ceiling of night
And sleep Past silver
Past gold
It presses with great force
DownwardAttempts to lure the mind toward
Darkness
I sense it coming and want to prepare
But why waste the day? That's to write on another page.
I am posting here instead of directly at
The SingPeace! site for two reasons.First, I would like to post the link for SingPeace!
As a reference and welcoming suggestion for visitors:
http://singpeacepilgrimage.ning.com/It is a beautiful site, whose intention & goals
Are worthy and inspired, linking a vehicle of
Expression with a state of being and action. Secondly, I wanted to post their post 'Here:'
http://morningambassador.posterous.com/singpeace-pilgrimage-for-peace-and-glo...
As it contains too many letters or words.
I'll post this link there so folks can find their
Way to this place for the intended post of today.
It was one of my intentions to share both ways, anyway: I am now breathing deeply and calmly even as I lost my entire
Finely honed post to SingPeace! to an Erasure.
What can you do - it happens. What follows will be a
Combination of resurrection and reconstruction.>Hello everyone and a special welcome to those who
Have 'subscribed' to the SingPeace! site recently.
I have just updated my profile pic there from 'Generic
Humanoid' to my (only) picture of what I have always
Called the Golden Hour - that time of a bright-lit day when
the sun evokes the richness of 'color, shade, and hue'
And the balance of full emotional richness
As it contemplates its zenith and denouement
Toward the horizon once again.A conscious moment spent during that time of day is to me
One of those shimmering treasures of peace,
Evocative of a quiet, active, and accepting mind & heart. Momentarily beheld fireflies, igniting the imagination.Just what dreams of expanding it are possible? Here is the link to my blog (this very one)
I am posting this on the SingPeace! site
And welcome people to visit whenever the
Mood for multimedia and my perspective combine:
http://morningambassador.posterous.com/ Though my blog is eclectic and composed
Of random thoughts, writings, stories, and what
I (and for all I know: everyone) like to call
'Media riffing:' Put a piece of any kind of media
Up and comment, reflect, and associate with it. While it does diverge with the content on
SingPeace! superficially, I like to think of it as an
Overlapping buffet of what human beings
Are about... individually and collectively, including
Our sometimes far flung humor and pathos. While SingPeace! draws ever closer to its goals,
I do dither about, trying to find what I need to
Write about.
Billions of musketeers:
One in all, and all in One.Peace!
Somehow, what NBC is doing to Conan O'Brien
And the way they are choosing to go about it -
In fact, have done ever since the beginning
Seems to sum up my feelings about everything
Ranging from fact-free journalism to profit-gouging
And the resultant economy to health-be-damned
To lack of inclusion of voters' wishes in this country.
It just makes me sad.
I've heard that the show has gone downhill
Since I used to watch it at the later time slot,
But you just don't treat people that way...
Like commodities and empty shells
Walking about and moving their limbs and mouths for you.
Ah - symbol and metaphor.
I can't stop seeing you everywhere.
Watched the movie last night.
Definitely watchable for the thing that it was...
Especially the first half.
Golden lights and crumbling gazebos and beautiful butterflies
That have never been seen before.
And evil disguised as shy awkwardness The pacing was okay except that seconds seemed like
Minutes gone by as I kept waiting -
Throughout the entire film
For it to somehow begin again
The way it was supposed to be.
Out of a dozen rich veins of mineral human experience
What was brought to light in the end was nothing so much as
Inexplicably abbreviated puffs of fine dust. I'll never know how watchable the film actually was
Because I have something unforgiveable against me from the start I read the book.
I can sense what's possible. It's just that I could never have been the one to
Bring it to life. But to take a shot at it, and then leave it in the
Inbetween. That's just curiosity and crazy-making.
Good performances.
Everyone did their job but the writers.
And there are at least a couple of them
Who suprise me with the narrowness of the
Resulting 'storyline.' Alas the story is left in a cornfield and lock of hair.
And the rich and creamy color palette.
Epilogue: ;)
I'm so sorry to have said this, but I needed to.
Compare with a film like, say, "Pan's Labyrinth"
And you can get a sense of what I mean.
No sleep long time now
Reduced to creeping about
Earworms eat sing shout...
"Jacket" is the filling in a "Weird" Pixie sandwich
Not sure which version to buy...?
Click the boxes and compare! Loved 'Jacket' btw - an odd little film
I find unforgettable....
Vy?
Berry good question: I think it has to do with
The non-linearity of life and connections;
Circular change-role come-together combustability.
Nap time! But first - may I ask: does 1990 seem long ago
When you just say it fast?
Twenty years; wee, but still a good chunk of human life
I know I've packed some things in mine.
{That's why Black Francis looks a baby boy}
Something about this movie - tho it's odd, disturbing, & confused ;)
Keeps the Pixies comparative time theme...
And now, a few comparative years later:
The addition of more agressive bass volume in the mix
(up to '11'-Spinal Tap scale)
Play it, Kim!
Whole philosophies live inside song lyrics
The music carries the metaphor
And the contstruct... all the way home.A long time ago, I walked to high school.
A mile each way, there and back,
Songs I'd sing aloud changing on heavy rotation,
But not a school day went by that I didn't sing
This song by Neil Young at least twice.Meant a lot to me then...
Still plumbing it now.
